Sports Biomechanics
I have finished my comprehensive exams and am now working on my dissertation. The focus of my research looks at various biomechanics parameters measured while strength training looks at the effect that training has on these parameters. I also plan to conduct a study to examine the ground reaction forces while performing a football drive block. My master's thesis looked at the various parameters that effect speed from a football stance. My other areas of interest involve anything to do with football, parenting, teaching children motor skills, leadership, leadership education, morals, teaching morals, lateral movement patterns, and work, power, skill transfer (or lack of) and speed of movement related to strength training.
I am doing a lot of research on the area of leadership and how to turn people into leaders. I am currently looking at Homer Rice's program at Georgia Tech University. The Leadership minor at Kansas State University, and the Army Leadership Program. I like the Army's program because they teach you to think, see, and do it similar to medical school. This method of education is almost like brainwashing, yet it is very effective, as shown by the fine military leader and doctors that we have. .
My research is being done under the supervision of Professor Eugene W. Brown from the Department of Kinesiology, Michigan State University.
